Your kitten’s dietary requirements are going to be different from an adult cat’s dietary requirements. To help a kitten grow healthy and strong, their food typically requires:
We only feed Acana in our cattery. I have had the greatest success with this brand. We only feed premium food to our kitties, high in protein and grain free… Acana First Feast high protein kibble is always available.
Wet food (Acana, Tikicat or Orijen for kittens) is fed 4 times a day to our kittens once they reach 3-4 weeks. The weening process is slow and kittens start at their own pace. May take up to 12-16 weeks to be fully weened and ready to go home..
Please Note* If you plan to change the diet (kibble) of your kitten, be prepared to take a few weeks. The kitten will not do well with a quick change. The kitten will suffer severe gastral upset if done improperly. Always add a probiotic when changing foods to help with proper digestion. The wet food is ok to change up as long as it’s for kittens, high in protein and grain free.. If you notice your kitty isn’t tolerating the new wet food, go back to the brands they are use too and mix it with the new food slowly . I do feed different textures of wet food and types so they have a better tolerance when going home..
Also remember if feeding downgraded un-nutritious foods such as whiskas or friskies and cheap brands your kitten guarantee will be void!!
